we were under house arrest. not that we aren't almost always at home, not having a car and all... but, it was so piping hot out that we couldn't even go for a stroll to the park. so we played the haba game "orchard" and this time the raven almost won. ezra wouldn't keep playing to find out. as soon as it looked like that pesky raven was going to win, he said, "let's start over." but, we didn't after all.
i worked on this blanket which i was supposed to finish up before indy was born but hadn't even started as busy as i was making indy knits. even though it reached 103 degrees here this week, we still got some use out of this cozy knit. indy and i have both snuggled under it while the a/c blows overhead and ezra has jumped all over it where it lies on our indoor trampoline couch. a boy has to get his energy out somehow when he can't ride his bike all day!
i've done a bit of knitting while nursing on the smaller needles which are working up a baby knit for a dear friend's first grandbaby just born on wednesday. her name is lyla lee. isn't that lovely to say?
we've played in indy's room with the shades closed. one day we spent the whole day with all the shades drawn like we were in a cave. my desert residing brother taught me that trick when he was here, but i think it made me more depressed not to see the trees and sky all day.
fortunately, ezra is a natural born homebody and loves to be inside all day. and when he finds creative things to do with his time i take pictures with my phone because these are the special moments of our days that i want to remember.
Too hot there and too cold here. What's going on? If only we lived closer. It would make a lot of sense and be a lot of fun! xxx
ReplyDeleteit would be so wonderful! bella would tend to baby indy, the boys would play, and we could sit back with our feet up and watch the chickens!
Deleteit is hard being indoors all day! Binky is a homebody as well. And, our couch was his trampoline for many years! I love Ezra's roads! I hope you get some relief from the heat soon.

oh i forgot how hot it gets there, thats why we get half of bf here (it's super cool and foggy right now). oh dear. love how you are all making the best of it with your knits and ezras creativity too!
ReplyDeleterather in awe of your knitting expertise......
ReplyDeleteAww, I remember that game from my own childhood!
ReplyDeleteKaya is just starting to get into playing games, I think we need to get some soon!
We've been home a lot too, but mostly because I had enough of getting soaked. It's looking much better now, but I'm sure rain will come again soon. At least the wellies had a chance to dry out a bit...
