boney mountain

we went back to our old neighborhood - the house michael's grandparents used to live in, then us, the home where we raised ezra from the day we came home from the hospital to 2 and a half years old when we moved to the island.  he seemed interested to go back and was happy riding his bike on the trail that starts across the street from the old neighborhood.  oh how we miss having this amazing national park reserve land right in our backyard!  to have this right behind our home, beautiful boney mountain - the highest peak of the santa monica mountain range - a gorgeous span of picturesque pinnacles and chaparral covered summits that reside in all of my childhood memories growing up in southern california, and a trail that leads to the beach down a winding canyon of towering sycamore trees, was truly amazing and a regular source of strength and power to us.

the blossoms were blooming to celebrate our return!

every vista made us breath deep and smile inside.

ezra felt it too.

isn't it inspiring?

with our eyes on the mountain, we walked happily up the hill.

once we got to the wigwam, ezra claimed, "this is the most awesome place ever!"
he had been already at least a hundred times.  did he remember somewhere in his unconscious mind?

we hung out inside for a bit,

and then sat around the circle of tree stumps.
i'm sure i could find a picture somewhere of ezra at this age doing the very same thing.

ezra ran in circles...

indy had to be held.

this is my happy place.

these are the experiences i most enjoy sharing with the ones i love.
outside.

in nature.

this is beauty.

stillness.

pure creativity.
