a wonderful week

 it started with my sparkly new birthday necklace from my mom and larry 

that i got to pick out at the swarovski store,

followed by getting ezra outfitted for soccer.   

this was truly a highlight for us all.  he was so excited!

he doesn't have his shin guards on here

but with them on i think he felt like a super hero.  

the next day after his music class, we took him to the park to try out his cleats 

and then let him walk back to the car with them on.  i think he has super hero stride going on here.  

 we had a beautiful start to our homeschooling week with our friends nicola and sophia.  we went to the seaquarium to learn about fish, but they also got a chance to pet this baby land toroise.

 my favorite plumerias were smiling at me all over the seaquarium's pretty gardens.

 we saw many fish in the aquarium before going to the top to feed them squid.  ezra held the squid for a moment before handing it over to me.  it was pretty slimy and stinky.

 the dolphins were my favorite to see.  i love how they came up and looked right at us.

they also swam down to the bottom of their tank and said hello

 through the window to the kids on our way out.  

this was taken before the first soccer practice which was a great experience.  the coach was wonderful with the kids (all four year olds - can you imagine?) and had a great sequence of drills for them to practice.  the majority of children on the key are spanish speaking and so the coach spoke a combination of english and spanish.  ezra was cheering "olé!" along with the coach to get the kids moving faster.  when we left ezra said, "gracias, adios!"  i love that he's so willing and able to try new languages and activities.
