donkeys in action

 every week the donkeys are taken up to the arena for some exercise.

they do need a little coaxing to get them running and it's one of ezra's favorite things to do here.

here he is running toward the donkeys shaking a rock filled can to make them run.

and they're off!

i used to get really nervous about him in there with them, but he's pretty good at keeping his distance

(although these accidental action blurred shots make him look precariously close).

the donkeys had an audience this particular sunshine day.  a class of 18 - 20 year old special ed. students from the local adult school came over and were sitting in the stadium watching.  here kristen is having the donkeys smile for some carrots that their teacher brought with.

ezra was only too happy to assist.  he would look at the students after and say, "see how they smile?"

afterward they all went to pet them and ezra was very proud to be in the arena still with his donkeys.
