friends on the ranch

the other day we had some friends visit us on the ranch.  there was a lot of excitement and the happy sounds of children playing filled the backyard for a good hour in the afternoon before the sun set and it was too dark and cold to be outside anymore.  the moms of these boys are friends that i taught with for years and it is so fun to get together with our kids.  we've all celebrated our pregnancies and births together.  there is something special about spending time with the children you've known since they were babies.  speaking of babies, my baby is supposed to be making his arrival anytime soon.  at my appointment yesterday with the doctor, i was told he could come at anytime.  i am 90 percent effaced and 1 centimeter dilated.  maybe he'll come this weekend while michael is here?  that would be nice, but i'm not getting my hopes up, after reading online that many women can be dilated and effaced for several weeks and still need to be induced after their due date.  fingers crossed though that he comes on his own soon!
