ezra and indy

ezra was excited about becoming a brother.  he took part in the naming of indy, although we decided to officially leave out "max" - but ezra likes to call him indy max and that's fine.  he came with to all of my midwife appointments in florida and my last doctor's appointment in california.  when we left the doctor's office two days before indy was born, ezra cried because he didn't get to see indy.  he thought that was the day indy was coming.  i asked him that week when he thought indy would arrive and after a beat said, "saturday."  well, he was right.  saturday early morning around 2:00 a.m. i was pretty sure i was in labor.  we were at the hospital by 5:00 a.m. and indy was born at 11:59 a.m. that day.  ezra came with the rest of the family and joined us in the labor and delivery room already once i had started to push.  but, when he saw the doctor dress up in her surgical gown, cap, and goggles *grin*, ezra ran out of the room back to our family waiting outside the door.  they said he picked up his feet real high and out to the side to show them that my legs were up in birthing position *more grins*.   it didn't take a lot of pushing to get indy out and once he made his first cry, ezra ran back in to take a look at his new baby brother.  on the way to the hospital ezra sang, "we're going to the hostipal, the hostipal, the hostipal, we're going to the hostipal to meet my baby brother."  he told people that day, "we're having a baby today!"  and when he came back to visit me and indy in the hospital he held his baby brother proudly and with awestruck eyes.  there were some very beautiful moments i don't think i'll ever forget.  it has been everything i dreamed it would be so far to bring another baby in the world.  i'm so happy to be given this gift and feel so grateful to be mama to these two sweet boys.

  2. So glad you got to have this experience. It is truly something special to be part of. The look on Ezra's face is very similar to Dillons when he held and gazed at Ronan when he was born. They will have a bond for the rest of their life and he will be an awesome big brother guiding Indy through life. XOXO

  3. I'm so glad the labour and delivery was such a nice one for you all! Each and every birth is such an amazing thing. I thought that after having 4 my desire to have another would relinquish slightly, but every time I encounter a newborn (like Indy or Kyri my sister's new babe) the oh so familiar feelings return. I am so happy for you Anushka - thank you for sharing this experience with us. xxx
