it's been so long since i've done a yarn along post but i have been a prolific knitter these last two months. with christmas presents on the needles and since then, many many baby knits for not only my own babe but a few friends' babies as well, i have been ever grateful for my beloved hobby during a time when i've spent most of my days seated on the couch unable to do much else. however, i have found it a real challenge to photograph my knits here, hence my absence from the yarn along. the lighting inside is not suitable and if i go outside the surfaces are too dusty to lay precious knits on. i need props, more time, a sheet and an iron, and i'm just too much on 'bed rest' to put in so much effort. i hope that i can make this up in this space by sharing these knits later once they are on the little baby they've been lovingly made for. i'm so excited to put him in these little patterns that i've found since having ezra. when i had ezra i made several things for him, but longies, leggings, buntings, milo vests and puerperium cardis are all new to me and have been super fun to knit.
we haven't missed a weekly trip to the library, and i'm so grateful that our family shares the love of reading to help us out with this weekly visit, with my sister and mother in law schlepping the big bag of books we collect for ezra. we have checked out the "my first little house books" series again and again for ezra. he adores these books. we started reading them already in key biscayne and he still asks for them for the second time again since moving back to california. for the last few weeks we have been in little house land with ezra playing laura, i'm mary, chicken is baby carrie, bee is ma, grandpa is pa, and lola is bulldog jack. almost everyday ezra will say to someone who calls him ezra, "no, i'm laura." it is fun playing along in his imaginary world. i loved "little house on the prairie" myself as a kid and am happy he shares similar loves from my own childhood like pippi longstocking, snoopy, little rascals, and now the little house characters. there are so many things like this that i don't want to forget and i'm glad for this space to write them down.

oh look at the pile of knitted lovelyness. i think your title for this post might be one of my favorites ever, i love all these things! i just came across a vintage boxed set of little house books, i'm reading them all, the last six for the first time.
