little knits
little knits on indy have been a daily pleasure to dress him in. today i was able to photograph him for a short session in a hand knit cardi given to him by michael's aunt deb and in the background you can see the quilt he is laying on that she made for ezra when he was born. i love the bright colors in the quilt and can see that lime green is a good color for him too. i have several hand knit things of ezra's that i made and saved but so far i've been enjoying him wearing the fresh knits i created for him during my pregnancy, including the above papoose that my dad and theresa gave me the yarn for. the pattern came from this book by erika knight. indy is two weeks old today. we're settling in nicely together in our new home. gigi does all the laundry and i do all the cooking. ezra is happy with his toys and the spaces he has in which to play. he also has been revisiting some of his baby toys and is slowly getting used to indy's cries and is heard less saying, "i don't like that sound" when he hears him shriek during diaper changes. today was the first time i saw him actually trying to comfort him by rubbing his belly when he was fussing in his basket laying next to ezra. as i write this he is bending over him now while he sleeps touching his knit bootie covered feet and looking at his sweet face. "why is indy sleeping?" he asks. that is what he does most of the time still. i haven't taken a nap in two days now, and i think it's catching up with me. tomorrow i will nap again. ramblings from a sleepy mommy. thank you for all the sweet comments dear readers.

Indy forces me to come to a conclusion: every baby looks best in a hand knit! That papoose is wonderful, I'll be looking it up for some expectant friends!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky boy, they are lovely. He looks so cosy. I love that ezra is helping comfort him xx p.s nap!
ReplyDeleteI have saved every hand knit that both of my children received when they were tiny! Indy looks lovely in his knits! (love the monkey print!)
ReplyDeletedear anushka,
ReplyDeletei am appreciating the knitting, your papoose is especially gorgeous, but it is impossible to keep any attention on these things while your baby is wearing them.
indy is truly one of the most beautiful babies i've ever seen. he is so cute, or i guess i should say handsome, with his perfect skin, adorable features and his halo of blonde hair. i had to show chuck for an unbiased opinion (although he does know i love you) and he agreed, most beautiful baby ever.
nap now mama :)
Love to everyone! So sweet! What is your new address?
