two months

two months of falling in love and doing what mothers do.

lately indy likes to sleep the last hour in the morning in my arms.  if i try to stay in bed with him, he writhes and grunts.  but, if i take him out to the couch and hold him in my arms he sleeps peacefully for another hour and this way the others can continue to sleep peacefully too.  i don't do much but stare at his face and sit in a daze of sleepiness.  today i took these iPhone photos to mark his two month birthday yesterday.  i feel a great sense of contentment on mornings like these when we are the only two together in the house (not in the bedroom) with the sunlight spilling into the room.  my thoughts are full of love and gratitude to be the mother of another beautiful boy.  i love watching them, playing with them, listening to them, being with them.  it is so dreamy to have another baby to hold close and marvel at.  the second time around it is so much easier to sit and stare, to relax into the stillness that mothering brings.

  5. I have to say that I love staring at a baby. These photos remind me of holding my two boys, marvelling at each little toe and cheek.

  7. What a great series of photos! I really need to have another photo session with Solomon, they change so much every month, huh? I can really see Indy's face relaxing out of that tight, newborn-expression. Also, his body looks like it's unfurling like a fern frond! You can really see how long he is in these photos. Fantastic Anushka, I can really sense the look of sleepy love on your face!

  8. How precious! I love technology and how it keeps us in touch at least virtually with each others lives. Have a great Sunday! Hugs and kisses from cousin Heidi.
