yarn along

knitting:  another puerperium for indy in a 6-12 month size.  even though we've had 90 degree weather here it always is chilly in the mornings and my baby doesn't have any long sleeved onesies in his wardrobe.
i'm trying to knit this up as fast as possible, but my needles are not being picked up as much as i'd like.

reading:  yesterday i read "monarch butterfly" to ezra because we made a caterpillar - the classic egg carton preschool project and some watercolor paper butterflies for the window.  it says at the end of the book that you can find your own caterpillar on a milkweed plant and keep it in a jar to watch it change and grow into a butterfly.  i would love to find some milkweed!  that would be cooler than ordering a kit i think.

i have wanted to submit a yarn along pose every week, but it's hard for me to get a post in these days.  this was taken weeks ago.  i already finished those booties.  can you spot the baby hand in this photo?

i also made him this sweet little cap with the anchor.

these photos were all taken with my phone - which is the easiest way for me to get pictures lately.  i have made many attempts at a yarn along post.  my bag is full of ongoing projects.  baktus scarves and a baby bunting bag.

we try to get out more and more to get fresh air, walk, ride and move our bodies.  baby loves the change of scenery and is always content when we're outside.  me too.  heading back out this afternoon to meet with some new friends hoping the sidewalks are dry after this morning's rain for the boys to ride their bikes.

  1. I love the anchor hat!
While it's so lovely to hear from you, it's also good to know you are taking the time to just be with your boys. Enjoy!

  6. I wish I knew how to knit booties and in awe that with a new bub you have the concentration span to think bootie patterns....Straight lines of crochet for the blanket is about the extent of my capacity at the moment. Love the colours of the wool...

  8. how are your wrists holding up? Mine are still totally blown and I have noticed that my handwriting has deteriorated because I can't grasp a pen or pencil like I used to. I imagine that knitting would be so painful right now, I haven't even bothered to try. Do you not have wrist pains when you knit, or does it just not really bother you?
