i finished knitting the lullaby bunting bag for indy. i knit the 6-12 month size, but i fear it will never fit him properly because the armholes are so large. the pattern asked for chain stitches to make button loops and i think it would've been better to make regular button holes. any suggestions from more experienced knitters on how to fix this? i can't imagine it will ever be snug enough to fit in the armholes (so he can sleep safe and comfortably in it) as well as be long enough if i don't change it. now i'm making a little toadstool rattle for baby out of koigu scraps (finally a use for them!) from a free purl bee pattern - i just love their site. the book i just finished is the second in a trilogy from (new to me) author adriana trigiani. my mom gave me the first in this series, called "very valentine" and i just fell in love with it as did she. these books are well written, funny, and have the kind of characters that you feel you are friends with. there is supposed to be a final book, "ciao valentine" but it seems to not have been published yet. now i am about to start "the thorn birds" per svenna's suggestion. the book was even mentioned in "brava valentine." i took it as a sign. yesterday chicken was here to help me get indy to a doctor's appointment. she bought ezra a big red ball and a woody doll much to his delight. she's such a good loving auntie. we're having a surprise birthday party for him on sunday when we're all getting together for mother's day - shhh! don't tell woody! i'm looking forward to dear friends coming tomorrow and have prepared a delicious elixir that michael and i enjoy drinking. it is water poured over one thinly sliced lemon, one thinly sliced orange, a bundle of mint sprigs, half of a cucumber sliced thinly, and one carrot sliced thinly. if you make it the day before, it tastes even better the next day. i can't wait to see these three lovely ladies and a couple of littles from their brood tomorrow. they are taking a two hour drive (each way) just to see us!
Oh, I can see what you mean with that bunting bag. You should really find a way to fix it, it is soooo lovely!!! Maybe if you just cut off some of the length of the straps? I am sure it is possible to pick up the stitches and make another buttom. or how does the back look like exactly, maybe you couuld shorten the straps there (too) and adjust the buttoms?
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing by my blog, because this way I found yours and I like it A LOT!
