yarn along

now that we've finally settled into our new home for the next five months, i can post my current knitting project and book that i'm reading..  my friend clare gave me a bundle of yarn again to knit cute little things for her daughter stella.  i'm enjoying this soft cascade pima cotton in my hands for making a darling fair isle cardigan from a sublime pattern.  i never made any fair isle knits until clare picked out her own patterns and started sending them to me along with the corresponding yarn.  i used to be daunted by all the color changes but once i get into a row about an inch i really enjoy the puzzle of twisting the yarn around and watching the pattern emerge.  it is a great distraction for me to take my mind off my morning sickness.  another diversion is my current read "the paris wife" by paula mclain about ernest hemingway's first marriage.  i haven't gotten very far into it to give a review.  my mom passed it on to me before we left california.  danke mami!  i hope i can get a library card soon, because after this i will need a new book.  to see more of what other people are knitting and reading visit ginny.
