we walk a few minutes to get to the beach from our new place. this little path led us onto the sandy beach that is a part of
cape florida. it is a beautiful wide sandy beach with a very gentle shoreline - perfect for ezra and i to play on together. it also wasn't crowded at all.
we walked along the shore and saw this sea slug
and then a couple more. do i need to worry about stepping on them in the ocean? because it's not as clear as the caribbean sea in st. maarten. you can't see everything beneath your feet. will i hurt it if i step on it? will it hurt me? these are the things that go through my head.
ezra enjoyed walking on this sand bar a ways in from the shore. it's a very shallow entry which will be wonderful for ezra to play in the water.
looking back at the shore, we live in a building just behind the one with the pale yellow vertical stripe.
looking up the beach you can see miami beach high risers in the distance.
we enjoyed walking on the different sands. this patterned dark sand was on the sand bar. the waves made these impressions that massaged our feet as we walked along.
ezra made new tracks over these tracks.
back in our new home, ezra discovered a new hiding place.
we are enjoying our new surroundings and are anxious to discover more of what key biscayne has to offer and hopefully that will include a friend or two for ezra, who says daily, "i'm going to make new friends here." i hope that we can make it to the playground soon for him to find some and then sign him up for a class at the community center that starts in a few weeks. meanwhile, i may be quiet in this space for some time because i'm being called to be ezra's chief playmate and when i'm not doing that i'm eating whatever settles my newly pregnant tummy. it is wonderful and we are so happy and yet meanwhile i'm feeling very nauseous and ill just as i did with ezra 5 years ago. what a strange dichotomy early pregnancy can be. mind - happy - body - unhappy. any recipes, potions, remedies for extreme nausea are welcome!
Wow! Congratulations!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
ReplyDeletei'm so thrilled for you and michael and ezra too. first i'm really glad your in a place that's more comfortable for you, and i still can't believe your having a baby!!
ReplyDeletei had morning sickness with all of mine and by the last one i finally figured out a good balance was what helped most...a time for sun, and time for rest, a bit of food, and redbush tea (rooibos) to settle the tummy. and at this time eat whatever sounds appealing and you can stomach.
congratulations sweetie!!
p.s. i'm pretty sure those sea slugs wouldn't like being stepped on, but at the same time i think they are harmless to you. find out if there are stingrays in the area though!
ReplyDeleteGinger biscuits! That's what I ate for sickness. What a perfect way to start your pregnancy in this beautiful place. I'm so excited for you xo
