knitting: griffin
a totally obsessive knit with the self striping yarn and interesting pattern construction by the same designer of the famous milo vest. i made my first ever front pocket while still knitting in the round and showed my efforts to michael who agreed it was really cool. i keep holding it up against ezra, whom it is being knit for and who chose the yarn colorway with me last week while chicken was here. it happens to match a book we've been reading by the author - john burningham - a favorite of ours introduced to me during yarn along by little macaroon. "hey! get off our train" was a lucky find at a recent used book sale, but i have a handful of other titles checked out from the library currently. we started reading his books in miami. he's funny, thoughtful, has worldly characters and great illustrations. for my own personal reading, i'm in the middle of "the shell seekers" by rosamunde pilcher given to me by my mom. after reading her favorite book "september" by the same author appropriately in september, i am now enjoying the prose of this british author. what are you reading or knitting this week?
Love the self stripping yarn. I so want to make the boys sweaters with a front pocket. You would love the knitting book I found cheap here - all mens stuff - some simple sweaters the boys can wear. Reading school books here - trying to finish up a semester and knitting - well Mike really needs a more professional hat to wear to work - trying to finish that up. I look forward to some fun reading after the first week of December - Cheyxo

One of my favourite books ever is Coming Home by Rosamund Pilcher.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in that yarn, lovely.
That yarn is insane. I love it, want to touch it. Reminds me of mohair. And, crazy, love how the color is matched in the book.
