a little trip back 'home'

there was a princess torte waiting for us
(my favorite, my mom's favorite, and now ezra's favorite cake!)

friends came over to visit our first day with good yummy food including a dark chocolate bar filled with caramel and sprinkled with sea salt from trader joe's.  another new favorite treat of mine now!

we had lunch at a favorite cafe and indy needed a wool sweater and blanket
in his stroller it was so cool and breezy, much to all of our delight.
we left the day after it reached 106 degrees fahrenheit where we live.

we visited the ranch and indy was held by bee

and grandpa...  there were several naps had by him in these arms
rocking back and forth and back and forth.

ezra requested a trip to the ranch everyday.

he shoveled manure

wearing 3-D glasses squirrel hunting glasses.

he hung out with chicken,

climbed the fence,

and squirted water with bee.

indy got to lay on a blanket on the table.

one day travis came to the ranch and the two boys were
hooting and chasing the donkeys with sticks and paper that looked like flags.

my friend cindy held indy the whole way there
and let him nap on her while we watched our big boys run.

at gigi's house we relaxed

on the couch

and on the beds.

one day we took indy for the first time to the beach

where we visited with more friends.
we had a great time introducing indy to dear clare and stella and the beach.

on our last day, ezra and travis got together again at the local splash pad.

his little brother braden came along and the poor little guy got stung by a bee (he stepped on it).  i had to take pictures when i saw him scooting with his foot in the air to get to....

a dandelion!

should i blow it?  or eat it?

nah, i'll just pull off the fuzzy head with my hand.
such a cutie this one is.

at the end the boys were hugging goodbye and fell into a heap.

the next day we drove back home and we took gigi with us!  we are heading back in less than a week and are looking forward to more fun with family and friends.  michael takes the next board exams known as step 2 for medical students in two weeks.  we'll have a little time together before giving him five days of study solitude.   then i hope we'll have lots more family fun time for the four of us.
