two weekends ago we met my dad and family halfway from each other so they could accompany me on the long drive from our house to theirs. just in case anything were to go wrong i wouldn't be alone with ezra and indy on a deserted road with spotty cell service. it was nice to have their company and we're still enjoying each other up in northern california where we are staying at their home visiting while michael does a rotation in radiology for three and a half weeks in phoenix. on the way up my dad was keen on going to the annual garlic festival in gilroy. i've always been curious about it myself, so on an adventure we went! it was a good thing we brought a stroller for the long walk from the parking lot to the festival and a blanket and towel for waiting on the grass with the baby for long lines for a zip line ride and a trampoline assisted jump (ezra was still to small for these but i think he was relieved in the end that he wouldn't have to go through with it - poor guy did wait for 45 minutes though to be told no). we've been having a lot of fun ever since with lots of indulgences for young and old alike - think no regular bedtimes and lots of dessert and regular trips to starbucks. summer is coming to an end here and we're glad to be spending time with the family making memories.

i love that your with family again, i know how important that is to you :)
ReplyDeletethe garlic festival! i've not been but always see it advertised. sorry e, next year maybe! and indy. oh my gosh anushka, every month he gets cuter, is it possible? he had already probably broken the cuteometer!

Yay! This sounds like the perfect way to spend the last days of summer, delighting in the small things, going on little adventures, and being with family.
ReplyDeleteWe really need to go to the Garlic Festival one of these days!
