we went into the city a few times while we were visiting up north. the first time was our trip to the
academy of sciences with my dad and the children, and then i ventured once on my own with the boys to see their uncle christopher (auntie annie was out of town) and once with just indy to have breakfast at a cozy
place with a dear friend from childhood. each time the temperatures were about 20 degrees cooler than in menlo park and i thought it was wonderful to cool off and feel the crispness in the air before we would have to return to the hot valley of central california. we had a delicious lunch with christopher at a neighborhood
restaurant, followed by jumping at the
house of air in the presidio. i wanted to see the golden gate bridge while i was here and although it was covered in fog i was still struck by its majestic presence and felt like i was in another world. san francisco has a special place in my heart with family and friends living there and also as a magical place where michael and i began our journey as a couple 18 years ago in mill valley. it's this year that we've been together half of my living years! amazing.
Love the City with all my heart!
ReplyDeleteI would love to travel somewhere north and be cold! It was nice weather for the past few days but the heat and the humidity are back. My fingers are crossed that it will be brief. The bouncing area looks like fun!!
ReplyDeleteOk San Fran must be in the air!! Many friends-like 3 different families I know- have just gone to visit there!! I've only been there once, but I do believe that it's a magical place, and how wonderful that you and Michael's beginnings are connected there...
ReplyDeleteOh and the trampoline place, so much fun!! Well, at least for the kids, the last time I went trampolining I realized that jumping is not the greatest for mamas that have birthed babies--ya know what I mean!!!!
XO
I agree with MJ regarding jumping on trampolines! Haha. These photos are making me want to go visit up north so bad. Some of my best friends used to live in S.F. so we would visit constantly but it seems like forever ago. Always love to see the Golden Gate.
