south pointe park surprise

things were looking bright and beautiful today.  we got up early to beat the heat and head over to south pointe park to see the playground along the boardwalk.  i have let ezra sleep in every morning since being here, but today i woke him up to get to the playground before noon.  he was excited to go and ate breakfast in the jogger while i walked a little over half a mile to get there.  the warm summer balminess was still pleasant and brought us gently from one dreamworld to another.

we were a little disappointed to see the playground wasn't ready for children yet but since everything is still new to us around here we enjoyed just strolling around the pathways with ezra directing me which way to go.

the parks are wonderful here and something i will take full advantage of being a stay at home mommy with no car.  i'm thinking a pair of inline skates and a bicycle could enhance my sidewalk and boardwalk walking experience here very much.

we ended up sitting on top of that building in an orange plastic lounger together while ezra finished off his french toast sticks.  it started to heat up and we decided it was time to go back.
i decided to quickly use the restroom before walking back to our hotel and i'm so glad i did.  when we came out from the bathroom there was a perfect surprise waiting for us.

it was a water spray park that had been activated by another little kid out that day.  this was just what ezra needed - and me too.

to watch him play and get wet, to laugh and smile with this other little being was a blessing for us both today.  almost everyday ezra has mentioned that he's going to make new friends here which i told him he would of course.

ezra loves standing in the rain without an umbrella.  we've never been to a water park like this before which is why i didn't recognize it when we first walked by.  ezra loved it.

i sat nearby and happily watched him just wishing once that i had my other camera with me.

ezra and sammy made fast friends and hugged when it was time to say goodbye.  i hope he'll have more and more encounters like this one now that we live in a place where there are many children and many public places for them to play together.

i enjoyed our new city, our-ami, as we walked back.

  3. Looks like you had such a fun adventure- those water park/splash parks can be very sneaky! I have often had to look carefully to see if it is indeed a water feature- such great photos.

  4. It sounds like it was a wonderful outing for both of you. Even without your other camera, you captured Ezra's spirit and how much fun he had.
