my first milo

the finished milo
ezra's milo on the needles
this last week and a half i have been knitting on the beach.   i finished another lyalya hoodie for a little friend of ezra's who is turning two and i read kelly corrigan's "lift" in one sitting on a chaise at the beach while michael was home with ezra.  i made my first milo for the baby in a delicious rainbow merino wool by lana grossa that riki and stephie brought me from germany.  after i finished it two days later, i immediately started up another milo for ezra who began asking while i was knitting up the newborn milo "who's that for?"  i'm using the shibui rainbow worsted weight yarn that my mom bought me while she was here.  he loves colorful yarn and i think he and the baby will look cute in matching rainbow milo vests.  the milo, layla hoodie, and puerperium are my current favorite projects, and i think i might be making a few more of each before baby comes - i also have a couple of other special babies on the way to knit for!  these projects are delightful newborn knits and i'm grateful for the great weather and time i've had to knit lately with my cousins here.  for more knitting loveliness, visit the yarn along!
