fairchild tropical botanic garden

we had a beautiful visit to the fairchild tropical garden yesterday in coral gables.  it is the largest tropical garden preserve in the world and has received accolades around the world for its superior plant collection and research projects.  we took advantage of the tram ride that takes you around the 80 some acre property instead of walking the grounds in the midday sun and heat.  my favorite pictures came from our walk to the butterfly garden and not from my comfortable seat on the tram.  it was fun to stop and look up at the kaleidoscope of lines, colors, and patterns made by the trunks and crowns of the trees.  i love the different colors of the rainbow bark eucalyptus tree, the moss hanging low from a giant tree and the contrast of the pink blossoms against the blue sky.

  1. oh my- so beautiful! I love these photos- I bet the smell of the eucalyptus and moss was amazing too- especially with your super human power baby making senses.
