the day uncle dees arrived...

we decided to go for a bike ride before my brother steve was to arrive.  nicknames stick in this family, and ezra has been calling his uncle steve uncle dees since he started to talk.  we were so excited to have him come for a visit and instead of sitting around waiting anxiously, we took ezra for a bike ride along the beach boardwalk down the street from our home.

the sun was shining but there was a bit of a breeze.  we went quite far and only felt a little hot by the time we were returning.

it is always remarkable to me how very few people are on the beaches here, but i suppose that will change once the snowbirds start to arrive.

the boardwalk is virtually ours alone and ezra can enjoy riding freely without any obstacles.  it has been so wonderful to all get outside again and enjoy something we all love to do together.  we have spent more time indoors than i like to for our first 3 months living in miami.  it is blissful to be outside enjoying this amazing climate.

we were so pleased to arrive back at home at the same time that uncle dees pulled up in his rental car.  it was perfect timing and we're so glad he's here!

after dinner that night we drove across the causeway for steve to see the miami skyline we love so much

and down to ocean avenue in south beach to see the art deco buildings,

hear the music and see the people at the scene.

we drove through miami on the way back to the key and showed steve the rainbow bridge.
i hope you can appreciate these moving pictures.

more music, more buildings, more scene.

ezra was loving the wind blowing threw his hair with the sunroof open and the windows down.  he asked me to take his picture.  it's so fun to enjoy a drive and see the city when your uncle comes to town!  ezra even remembered we had been to south beach when uncle christopher and aunt annie were here.  a tradition is in the making!
