a fun night out for indian food with all our friends on the key
drawing time together was a special activity between nephew and uncle
our last day we took a trip to the marina and watched this tow boat come in so his driver could pick up some lunch at the marina restaurant.
this is as close as the pelicans would allow me to come to them.
"uncle dees is gone mom. are you sad?""yes, i'm a little bit sad."
"i'm a little bit sad too. i like uncle dees. do you like uncle dees?"
"yes, i do."
"we're never going to see him again."
"yes we will! real soon."
this was the conversation i had with ezra after my brother left on monday. we had a short but sweet visit with him. we wish he could've stayed longer and that luke had been with him to enjoy our daily run/bike ride along the boardwalk, drawing submarines and coloring together, eating together with friends and just hanging out all day long.
we had three days of rain and cooler temperatures, but it didn't stop us from enjoying one last bike ride and run on the boardwalk this morning under a constant light drizzle. even steve loved the grey weather coming from hot and sunny arizona. we're so happy family comes to visit us wherever we go! and this time it's been easier to say goodbye, because we'll be near them all again in two months time.
oh that made me sad, but then happy because i know your going back. i hope ezra understands now. LOVE love your photos anushka, your brother is so cute(esp playing with e), you look so much alike. and those pelicans, so cool. you wouldn't want to get any closer though, those beaks can inflict some pain.
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad you had a sweet whirlwind visit, the pictures are wonderful :). And your conversation with Ezra was so touching...No, two months are not long at all, they will fly :).

Ahh bless Ezra. I bet he loves all your visitors. You look so much like your brother. The same beautiful smile :))
ReplyDeleteEzra certainly has a flair for a dramatic statement! "we're never going to see [Uncle Dees] again?" Goodness, I should hope not!
