ezra's grandparents are animal rescuers.  not only did they rescue all of their dogs and equines, they moonlight as raptor rescuers as well.   when somebody nearby finds a bird of prey in need of help and makes a call to find aid, a series of calls ultimately reaches michael's parents who go to the location to pick up the bird.  these two young birds had both fallen from their nests and were brought home to the ranch where they were fed many frozen mice and were given a warm safe place to spend the night.  the next day they were taken up to the ojai raptor center an organization that facilitates these heartwarming rescues.  aren't these birds beautiful?  sometimes they are found in oil spills and other times they are found injured from people harming them.  i cannot understand why anyone would hurt these beautiful creatures of the sky. it makes me happy that there are people who care for these birds, like my in-laws, when they need assistance.  if you ever find an animal in need, know that there are people who will help them if you cannot.
