before we got to the golden gate bridge, we told ezra we were going to see it and he asked for several miles on the interstate if each freeway overpass we went over, under or by was it. we told him he would know for sure when he saw it. and he did... he said wow. it was cool. when i first saw it as an adult i remember being awestruck. i had just fallen in love with michael. he brought me to this beautiful place and we lived together on the other side of this bridge for our first year together as a couple. this place is enchanting for anyone who comes to visit, but for me it does create a certain charm whenever i am here.
golden gate bridge
we drove up last wednesday to visit family in northern california and have been having a wonderful time. this weekend we took two trips to san francisco. yesterday we spent the day with uncle christopher (michael's brother) and aunt annie, who live together in the city, and drove out again today from menlo park with my dad and the rest of the gang. we spent both days getting a good amount of time taking in the views of this beautiful national monument. i love the golden gate bridge. it has been my greatest desire this trip to show it to ezra, who is hiding his face from the camera and blustery wind in this picture. it was below 60 degrees outside but the chilling wind shear along the coastline was what left our faces thawing out for hours later. he was impressed by the bridge as well as the wind and enjoyed driving over it yesterday with christopher and annie.
